A 7-day Tehran & Damavand tour is one of the most popular trek holidays in Iran which everyone would love to experience once in his or her life. Mount Damavand is the highest volcano peak in the middle east that is also a national heritage site and national symbol of resistance and has a significant place in Persian mythology. It is located in the southern part of the Caspian Sea and is a 1-hour drive from the capital city of Iran (Tehran).
In this trekking tour, you will see Lar National Park which is rich with wildlife and flora from the top. when you reach the top of Damavand Peak you could walk around the volcanic hole and see Iran’s nature from the height of approximately 6000 meters above sea level (see exact Damavand altitude here).

Day 1: Sightseeing in Tehran
Day 2: Start trekking to Damavand, up to 3000 m for acclimatization
Day 3: Trekking to Bargahe Sevom (Bargah 3) hut at about 4200 m altitude
Day 4: Acclimatization (or bad weather reservation day to summit Damavand)
Day 5: Summit day
Day 6: Get down to Polour and Hot Spring
Day 7: Fly back home
TOUR FULL ITINARY
Day 1: Sightseeing Tehran
Your tour will start from Tehran at around 9-10 am. Our guide will pick you up from your hotel/residence in Tehran. Also, airport pick-up will be available for an extra charge, if you want to be picked up directly from the airport upon arrival. Today we’ll go on a city tour in the north of Tehran. We will visit the amazing Tajrish Bazaar, Emamzade Saleh mosque, Sa’dabad Museum Complex, shopping mall, etc. In the late afternoon/evening, you will have free time for walking, shopping, and being prepared for the next day’s trekking. O/N at Hotel in Tehran (Bed & Breakfast).
Note: Booking an extra night hotel room (a day before arrival) will be available for an extra charge if you arrive the night before or early morning and need good rest.
Day 2: Start trekking to Damavand, Gosfandsara camp (3000 m)
After an amazing visit to Tehran and a good rest at the hotel, we will pick you up (9-10 am) from the hotel and transfer the group to the Damavand hostel at the foot of Mount Damavand. You can leave all your extra stuff and luggage in the hostel safely, and take your trekking stuff for the Damavand tour. Depending on the weather, temperature, etc, you will start trekking Damavand up to 3000 m for better acclimatization and to adapt to altitude and mountain conditions.
Depending on your guide choice, you may trek to Gosfandsara camp or any other ridges of Damavand to nearly 3000 m. O/N Damavand Hostel sharing rooms – or in some cases in a tent camp at Goosfandsara camp – (full board B.L.D).
Day 3: Trekking to Bargahe Sevom (Bargah 3) hut 4200 m
After breakfast in the early morning, we’ll transfer the group to Goosfandsara camp at 3000 m by jeeps on a gravel road. where we place the luggage on the Mules (every 2 persons 1 luggage around 15 kg), and start trekking with a lightweight backpack to the Bargahe Sevom hut in about 4200 m. After about 5 hours we’ll reach the hut and have enough time for walking around, taking photos, and rest. O/N in the hut or 2-person tent (full board B.L.D)
Day 4: Acclimatization day (or bad weather reservation day to summit Damavand)
Today we have enough time for acclimatization and enjoying the scenes. After well sleeping, and serving breakfast we’ll start climbing slowly to about 4800 m altitude and will have enough rest on our way, taking photos and so on. then descend to the hut slowly. O /N at the hut or 2-person tent (full board B.L.D).
Day 5: Summit day
After breakfast in the early morning, we’ll start to ascend to the top of the Iran, Damavand summit (5610 m). It takes about 6 hours to reach the summit. After reaching the summit you can see the Crater of the old Damavand volcano (the highest volcano in Asia) and enjoy scenes, taking memorial pictures. Then descend to the hut (about 3 hours). O /N at the hut or 2-person tent (full board B.L.D).
Day 6: Descend Polour and Hot Spring
After breakfast and packing our luggage, we’ll descend to Gosfandsara, where our 4WD transport us to Polour. Take a shower and collect the equipment. Go to Larijan’s local hot spring. The most important of these hot springs is located in Abe Garm Larijan in a village name Larijan in the district of Larijan. The water from this spring is useful in the treatment of chronic wounds and skin diseases. Near these springs there are public and private baths with small pools for use. The main spring temperature is about 65 degrees, but the pool and bathroom water is cooler. Afternoon we’ll transport the group to the hotel in Tehran. O /N at Hotel (B.L).
Day 7: Fly back home
This day can be a free day by yourself to excursion in Tehran and buy souvenirs, then depending on your flight time, we’ll transport the group to I.K Airport and you’ll fly back home.

No need to have any special vaccination. There is no contagious disease in Iran. But for abroad holiday its better to do your regular health care and vaccination or teeth treatment before you travel.
The currency of Iran is the Iranian Rial. Most of places does not accept Paypal or International credit cards, So you must pay in cash, or you can use Iranian Debit Card. You can charge your Travel Debit Card with local currency (You can charge this card ones (50 E, 100 E, 200 Euro or more) during your journey in Iran. We advise you to charge it until 300 euro before you visit museum, hot springs, market, shops and restaurant. With this card you can easily pay everywhere and withdraw local currency from any ATM. With this digital payment service you can spend money without worrying about changing money wherever you are or to be concerned about your budget. You can only spend the amount of money you charge on your card. You can also recharge easily the credit of your Sim-card)
Iran is an Islamic Country, So If you are a woman, You must wear scarf and mantoo and also man are prohibited to wear shorts in the cities.
