Damavand mountain trekking is one of most popular trek holidays in Iran that everyone would love to experience it once in his or her life. Mount Damavand is highest volcano peak in middle east that is also a national heritage site and national symbol of resistance and has a significant place in Persian mythology. It is located in southern part of Caspian sea and 1 hour driving from capital city of Iran (Tehran).
In this trekking tour you will see Lar National park which is rich with wildlife and flora from top. when you reach the top of Damavand peak you could walk around the volcanic hole and see Iran nature from the height of approximately 6000 meter above sea level.
Day 1: Arriving to Tehran (I.K Airport), Sightseeing Tehran
Day 2: Start trekking to Damavand, Gosfandsara camp (3000 m)
Day 3: Trekking to Bargahe Sevom (Bargah 3) hut in about 4200 m altitude
Day 4: Acclimatization (or bad weather reservation day to summit Damavand)
Day 5: Summit day
Day 6: Get down to Polour and Hot Spring
Day 7: Fly back home
TOUR FULL ITINARY
Day 1: Arriving to Tehran (I.K Airport), sightseeing Tehran
Arriving Tehran (I.K Airport). Transport to hotel and have a rest (depends on arrival time), and Tehran sightseeing. Afternoon transport to Polour village (2400 m) at the foot of Damavand, overnight at I.R Mountaineering federation guesthouse or local house (full board B.L.D).
Day 2: Start trekking to Damavand, Gosfandsara camp (3000 m)
After breakfast we’ll transport by the cars to the end of Asphalt road, there we start trekking to Gosfandsara camp (3000 m). All the backpacks and luggage will carry on by 4WD cars to the camp. After about 2 hours trekking with lightweight backpacks between the beautiful mountain flowers, we’ll reach the camp. There we’ll setting up our tents and we have enough time for hiking around and enjoy the nature and landscape. O /N at 2 person tent (full board B.L.D).
Day 3: Trekking to Bargahe Sevom (Bargah 3) hut 4200 m
After breakfast at early morning we’ll collect our luggage and place them to the Mules (each 2 persons 1 luggage around 15 kg), and start trekking with lightweight backpack to the Bargahe Sevom hut in about 4200 m. after about 5 hours we’ll reach the hut and have enough time for walking around, taking photo and rest. O /N in hut or 2 person tent (full board B.L.D)
Day 4: Acclimatization day (or bad weather reservation day to summit Damavand)
Today we have enough time for acclimatization and enjoy the scenes. After well sleeping, and serving breakfast we’ll start climbing slowly to about 4800 m altitude, and will have enough rest on our way, taking photo and so on. then descend to hut slowly. O /N at hut or 2 person tent (full board B.L.D).
Day 5: Summit day
After breakfast at early morning, we’ll start ascend to top of the Iran, Damavand summit (5671 m). It takes about 6 hours to reach summit. After reach summit you can see the Crater of old Damavand volcano (highest volcano in Asia) and enjoy scenes, taking memorial pictures. Then descend to hut (about 3 hours). O /N at hut or 2 person tent (full board B.L.D).
Day 6: Descend Polour and Hot Spring
After breakfast and pack our luggage, we’ll descend to Gosfandsara, there our 4WD transport us to Polour. Take a shower and collect the equipment. Go to Larijan local hot spring in 30 km distance from Polour. The most important of these hot springs are located in Abe Garm Larijan in a village by the name Larijan in the district of Larijan. The water from this spring is useful in the treatment of chronic wounds and skin diseases. Near these springs there are public and private baths with small pools for use. The main spring temperature is about 65 degrees, but pools and bathrooms water is cooler. Afternoon we’ll transport the group to hotel in Tehran. Farewell dinner in one of the best restaurant in Tehran. O /N at Hotel (full board B.L.D).
Day 7: Fly back home
Depend on your flight time, we’ll transport the group to I.K Airport and you’ll fly back home.
